The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) held an unveiling ceremony today for new postage stamps commemorating the 150th anniversary of America’s Transcontinental Railroad, and the contributions that Chinese immigrant laborers made in building it. Grace Meng, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, present at the ceremony with officials from USPS and MOCA in New York’s Chinatown.
This month marks the 150th anniversary of the railroad’s completion. A total of three Transcontinental Railroad Forever Stamps were unveiled during the ceremony.
Invited by Congresswoman Grace Meng, President of UCA, Haipei Shue. participated in this ceremony. On behalf of UCA, Haipei Shue. read the Resolution of House of Representatives 165 (https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-resolution/165), which was promoted by congresswoman Grace Meng and UCA has been closely working with her on drafting the resolution.
